Jim & CJ
Monday July 12th @ 7:30 AM - Jim
& CJ's
Apartment
CJ rolls over and sees Jim is awake. Jim
had been lying
there just
content to stare at the ceiling, but when he felt CJ move he rolled on
to his side so he'd be facing him, and said, "Well, good morning
sunshine. Sleep well?"
Stretching out, "Great!". then he leaned over
and
kissed Jim
quickly. Jim was a bit bashful in the morning about kissing just after
he woke. He had claims to have 'Dragon Breath' bad, until he can get to
the can and clean up a little. But he did keep some Certs in the night
stand for just such an occasion. He pulled CJ back and started tickling
his tonsils.
After awhile, CJ pulls away gasping for air.
"Shit! slow
down, I
got a ton of shit to do today. We keep that up and I won't get a damn
thing done." All of a sudden, Jim reaching over and grabbing CJ's
hardon, "Seems to me you're ready for some more. Why don't we just
'blow' off the day?"
"Your favorite pastime," laughing at Jim, CJ
says,
"Easy for you to
say? But I HAVE to be at work in 50 minutes. I still have to take a
shower." Jim interrupted, "We still have to take a shower." "You know
Jim your incorrigible." Breaking free of Jim, CJ gets out of bed and
heads to the bathroom, Stopping in the doorway, he turns back to Jim,
who is still in bed smiling at him. He says, "Well, we gonna save water
or not, get your ass over here." then CJ walks in.
@ 8:15 AM
CJ looks at the clock, turning to Jim who's
still sitting there
in
a towel. "Shit! Now I'm gonna be late. And it's all your fault!" Jim
sputters, "I seem to remember, we both had a hard time getting done with
the shower." CJ groans, then says, "Anyway, could you straighten up the
spare room before you go to work? You know my cousin, Bill, will be
arriving at 6:30. My mom was sorta mysterious when she asked me to let
him stay with us for the week."
Jim smiling says, "I wouldn't worry about it,
your mom
always
thinks she's being mysterious. ... She told you that he was coming to
check out the university, that's probably all there is to it. By the
way, I'll ask Gary if we can bring him to Ted's party, that ought get
him out of the Land of Dorothy."
CJ starts walking to the door, but does a
U-turn and comes up to
Jim and gives him a quick kiss, "I'll meet you at the bookstore at
5:30." Then he heads off to work.
@ 12:30 PM - Talibah's Bookstore
"Gary for the twentieth time, I finished the
tapes for the
party.
CJ double checked on the sub order on Saturday, and everything was fine.
Sandi ordered the beer and soda, we have a ton of decorations piled up
in the back room. We already got every paper product imaginable to
mankind. ... Man, you just got to fuckin relax, giving yourself an ulcer
over the party isn't worth it." Jim was saying to Gary. "By the way,
it'll be all right if we bring CJ's cousin, won't it?"
Gary smiling because he does realize he
has been getting
too
carried away with the party, but he just wants to make it perfect for
Ted. "Sure no problem. When did his cousin get in town?"
"Well, he's not here yet. He's
coming tonight.
All I know is that
CJ's mom called Sunday, and said 'Bill' was coming to check out the
university, guess he's a senior and looking for a place to go to next
year." When he stopped to think about, maybe there was something strange
here, why a whole week? And while Cris' mom and dad knew about the two
of them, as far as he knew, no one else in the family had any idea.
Sandi walked over, and started asking about
the status of some
books she was trying to get some copies of. Then she glances over to
Gary, "Gary, I decided one of the presents I'm giving Ted for his
birthday. You have off of work from Wednesday til Monday. You'll be
totally useless here, and be driving everyone crazy on top of it.
It's
not only for Ted, but everyone here too. Just chill out!"
"Come on Sandi, I haven't been that
bad." Sandi
and Jim
simultaneously said, "Bull shit!"
@ 6:30 PM - Greyhound Station
When Bill got off the bus, he was able to pick
out his cousin CJ
right away. CJ had this really red hair that stood out in a crowd. He
noticed that CJ was with someone, and thought to himself, "Shit,
I was
hoping he'd be alone." His whole world has been thrown completely out of
whack since Saturday, when his mom found a copy of The Advocate in one
of his drawers. He couldn't believe that they kicked him out, it all
felt some how unreal. ... Just told him to get out. ... He stuffed as
much as he could into his knapsack and left. He didn't know what to do.
He ended walking over to his Aunt Jean's place. She was his father's
sister and told him on more than one occasion if he ever needed help or
just someone to talk to give her a call. He thought, "I've never
needed
help or someone to talk to more than now."
He couldn't help it but just the sight of her
there when she
opened
the door, started him crying. She grabbed him and hugged him while he
sobbed on her shoulder. After a while, when he started to calm down a
bit, she asked, "Bill, whatever is the matter, What's wrong?"
"My dad just kicked me out." he said
sniffling.
"They found this
... magazine I had, ... it wasn't dirty or anything. .. It was a gay
magazine. ... So if you want me to go I'll leave."
Jean said, "My brother is a god damned
idiot! Bill,
don't worry,
please don't worry, you can stay with us for as long as you need to.
This is you're Aunt Jean. You are welcome in my house now and forever."
Bill started crying again, "Auntie Jean, Thank you, thank you, " then
nothing but sobbing.
He vaguely remembers that she called up his
dad and ripped him
out
a new asshole with what she said. He would never have imagined her ever
knowing such language. Then yesterday, she said that she and uncle Cris
were leaving on vacation on Monday and would be gone a week. But she
called CJ and told him to expect me, cause she didn't want me to be
alone. When I asked about what I should tell CJ, she said that the truth
would probably be best, but it was up to me. She said that all she told
CJ was that I was going there to check out colleges.
CJ picked him out as he got off the bus. Bill
was tall and thin
and
easily stood out in a crowd. But just by looking at him, CJ felt that
something was wrong. Normally, Bill was never seen with out some sort of
smile on his face. Today, he looked positively morbid. Walking over
toward him, CJ yelled, "Bill! over here." Then Bill tried to
smile at
him. By this time, CJ had him in a bear hug, and was saying, "God, it's
good to see you!" "CJ, it's good to see you too."
Jim was standing there next to them,
when CJ turned Bill to
face
him, and said, "Bill, I want to you meet Jim. He's my ..." When CJ
paused, Jim said, "I'm his lover." and extended his hand.
