Double Date

Friday August 20th @ 8:30 PM - Bowling Alley

     While there was a break between games, TK goes to the can. He's
standing by one of four urinals doing what comes naturally, when in walk
two guys, one dressed in jeans and a t-shirt with "God Loves You!"
written across it, and another with a t-shirt reading, "Born Again in
Jesus Christ". TK glances at them as they walk over, but then faces
toward the wall. The first guy says to his friend, "Well, look here. Do
you think this guys a faggot?" "I don't know. I thought I saw him give
that other guy a kiss." TK realizes that after Bill had ended the tenth
frame with three strikes, he leaned over and gave him a quick kiss on
the cheek. "So asshole, you a fucking queer or what?" TK is trying to
ignore them, he zips up and turns toward the sinks. "Hey you, you a
faggot?"

      TK finally says, "Get the fuck out off my case." "Listen pretty
boy, you haven't answered my question. You like to suck cock?" TK has
had enough, "What's it to you , or are you looking for date?" The guy
behind him slaps the back of TK's head. "Watch yourself asshole. We
don't put up with that shi ..." He never finished because of a severe
pain in the balls, as TK had just kicked him there. With the other guy
on the floor writhing in pain, TK heads slowly for the guy left
standing. The guy starts backing up slowly. But before he reaches the
door, he tries a flying tackle at TK. Where upon TK, stands the guy
upright and knees him in the stomach. The guy ends up on the floor with
his friend gasping for air. TK walks to the sink, washes his hands and
leaves.

      When TK returns to the alley, he sits down and starts taking deep
breaths, Wes notices first, "TK, you all right? What's wrong?" Now
they're all gather around TK. "Some guys ... in the can ... tried giving
me shit ..." Leaving TK with Gina, Bill and Wes head immediately for the
bathroom. When they walk in, the two guys are both still lying on the
floor holding themselves. Wes whistles and then says, "Seems like TK can
take care of himself. That's one surprising motherfucker, Bill. Remind
me to stay on his good side." Bill looks down on the two on the floor
and says, "Me too."

      When Wes and Bill get back to the their lane, Gina tells them that
it would probably be a good idea if they left. She said TK was pretty
shook up and could use some peace and quiet. After returning their shoes
and paying for the games, they all piled into Wes' car. Bill and TK were
in the back seat. TK was on the right, looking out the window staring
off into space. Bill moves next to him and takes TK's hand in his own.
Gina turns back to look at TK, "Todd, are you alright? You didn't get
hurt did you?" TK just shakes his head no, but tears start running down
his cheeks. He turns to her and says, "Why? ..." Bill moves his arm
around TK's shoulders, and hold him tight. "That's okay. You handled
them. It's not your fault."

      Wes pulls up to "Jack's Dogs" drive in. TK and Bill insisted that
they stop. TK wanted a little more time to compose himself. So they all
ordered something from the car hop, and gradually they started joking
around and laughing a little. After they were finished, Wes asked "Where
to next?" TK right away said, "I think I just want to go back now." Wes
drove to the house, TK and Bill told Wes and Gina good night, went in
and headed for Bill's room. When they closed and locked the door behind,
TK turned to Bill, "Just hold me for awhile." "OK." Bill encircled TK
with his arms, and TK rested his head on Bill's shoulders.

     TK let out a big sigh and soon the tears started again. Bill says,
"Come on Todd, it'll be alright. You'll see." "You don't understand, I
know how to handle myself, I've had training. ... But what about you? If
it'd been you in there, instead of me. ... it was all my fault. ... I
wasn't thinking when I gave you that kiss. ... What if it would a been
you on the floor? ... "
