I want to share some
of
the photographs I took of Basingstoke, England. Basingstoke
and Get Real have
inspired me to write the story BASINGSTOKE, in the
Beautiful Thing Fan
Fiction Archive
As you read the story, you will find some of the locations can be found

1. Get Real showing in Piccadilly Circus.
2. Jim being welcomed to Basingstoke.
3. They changed their minds, Jim's not welcome! Poor Jools [on the left] had no idea what he was in for!
4. Panoramic view of Basingstoke train station.
5. Stairs and main entrance to train station.
6. This is the subway Steve rides his bike through on his way to the park.
7. This is where Steve held his arm out to stop the cars on his way to the park. Note the IBM sign above the car.
8. This is the loo (rest room) where Steve first meets Johnny. It's closed, locked up now and the bench Steve sat on is gone.
9. The view from the bench Steve sat on. At center left is the band stand that was in the movie, you can hardly see it for the plants. And playing Steve is me David.

15. THE bench (and I'm sitting on THE spot Steve sat on) where Kevin tells him to, "stick to your own balls!" and Liz said about Johnny, "he's sex on legs!" (Oh, by the way, this is Old Market Square).
